If a school uses NYCDOE SchoolFood for After School meals, it is not allowed to bill families for any uncovered costs. If a school uses another vendor, it can.

How does a charter school apply?

Each year, fill out an application to request after school meals for children enrolled in school-sponsored programs. Snacks and/or supper may be obtained for students up to the age of 18.

New schools must pay the full cost of an After School program their first year. To be reimbursed, a school must take both components of the snack and all five components of the supper.
